What an INCREDIBLE night Thursday night.  We gave a check for over $5,600 for Relay For Life Team 1968, AND we raised $12,500 for Alzheimer’s Association!

The place was packed, with everybody in a giving mood, and give, they did!  Both Sue Donnelly and Kari Moss from Capitol Tours and Travel were in tears when Alf announced the final total; both of these women’s families have been personally affected by this debilitating disease.  Many people who were there have either had family members or knew someone suffering from Alzheimer’s, and everyone had a passion to give with all their hearts, and the result was tremendous!

The “Forget Me Not Flower Pledge Banner” was filled with lots of donations ranging from $50 to $1,000, which was donated by Kari Moss’ mother. (Sadly, her mother’s number was drawn for a shot to win some money just shortly after she left)

We drew 10 numbers for chances at picking one of the Coors Light aluminum bottles, 4 of them with $500.  Ironically enough, one of the numbers drawn was mine!  We were able to auction off my number to raise more money for Alzheimer’s.  Many people were bidding to take my place at that shot at $500, including Sue Donnelly and Kari Moss, and Kari was the highest bid at $140.  She didn’t win $500, in fact; nobody did, so that means 4 more chances at $500 this upcoming Thursday, May 15th, when we raise money for Down Syndrome.

Nobody got the “Central Bank and Trust Thankful Thursday Word of the Week,” so that means you’ll get a shot at $150 this upcoming Thursday as well.

Thanks to all who showed up at the Redwood Lounge this past Thursday night, and we look forward to getting together this upcoming Thursday night for another opportunity to grab a few drinks after work, get a shot at winning some money, and support another great organization.  We’ll see you there!
