Have you ever taken a short flight? I'm talking about a 45 minute, maybe a 1 hour flight? When I lived in Louisville, we would usually connect in Chicago and it would take around 45 minutes. Basically, as soon as you get up in the air, it was time to come down. This week has gone by so fast that we're at the point on our flight to Chicago where we're all the way up and the next two days, we'll try and land the plan to go into the weekend. Like that analogy? To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.
