The Dunleavy Family Opens A New Studio In Cheyenne
Paul and Heather Dunleavy, husband and wife, opened up Dunleavy Family Band Studios on Central Ave. It is directly across from the Lincoln Theater, 1612 Central Ave.
They will offer lessons for all types of instruments. Guitars, bass, drums. ukulele, voice and a whole lot more. They don't want to focus on the performing side of entertainment, the Dunleavy's want to teach the business side as well. Their goal is to produce local talent to perform locally. Paul and Heather hope to take advantage of the Lincoln Theater and utilize it as much as possible.
"We're not just teaching music. We're teaching them how to perform," Paul told the Wyoming Tribune Eagle. "We want to work with some local stages to give the kids some performance opportunities from a young age."
The goal is to eventually create "Cheyenne music row." It would be Niemann Music, Wyomusic, the Plains Hotel and the old Lincoln Theater.
The couple has 5 kids, obviously hoping they will all join the family business and be involved in the studio. "We don't want to force our kids to do anything, but we want to encourage them and give them opportunities," Paul said.
Paul has a background in education, while Heather is just great at playing and making music. "The only thing I've wanted to do more than music is have family," says Mr. Dunleavy. "Now I have both."
