She was born in 1938 right here in the capital city, her name is Patricia MacLachlan and she is Wyoming's most famous author, according to Business Insider.

You may have read her most infamous work, Sarah, Plain and Tall, which won the Newbery Medal in 1986.  The book was so good that it got turned into a movie for the Hallmark channel.  The movie had some pretty credible names in it, Glenn Close and Christopher Walken.  After seeing such great success with the book and movie, Patricia turned Sarah, Plain and Tall into a book series by writing four more books after that.
