The Freedom 5K is welcoming everyone to the Laramie County Library, on August 18th to kick off the day events.   First responders, adults, and children will all be walking /running to raise money for two amazing kids. Caydence(11 years old), and Hunter Bjorkquist(16-year-old) will be the recipients this year.

Miss Caydence, has a rare congenital heart defect called pulmonary vein stenosis and pulmonary hypertension.  She was also born at 27 weeks only weighing 1lb 13oz.

Hunter just recently was diagnosed with Hogskin's Lymphoma.  He has had treatment and it did stop the growth of cancer, but there are still signs that it is inside him.  Despite all of this, both kids are still fighting with a smile on their face.

The event starts at 9 am, 2-8-year-olds will kick things off, in the end, they will all be handed a medal of participation.  Then the 5K run/walk kicks off.  To wrap it all up, the first responders gear up for the gear trudge.

You can still sign up at Freedom 5K.
