The Centennial Electronic Eagles from Centennial Junior High in Casper are heading to Houston for the World Robotics Competiton.

The Electronic Eagles beat out 60 other Wyoming robotic teams for a chance to compete in the first-ever International LEGO League Championship.  The students had to construct a robot that will be taken through a course.  The team and robot get scored by how well the robot moves through the course, presentation and teamwork.

The coach for the Electronic Eagles is not even a teacher, he is a parent of one of the young ladies on the team.

"One kid that's been with me for basically eight years is my daughter. She came home and said, 'Dad, please coach LEGO robotics or else they're not going to have it,'" Dallen Griffith, coach of the Electronic Eagles told Wyoming Public Media.

Now that the team won, they need help with funding in order to go and compete in Houston.  On March 15th, the team will be having a live auction at the Gaslight Social in Casper.
