Wyoming Gets New Snow Plows To Combat Winter Flurries
Wyoming Department of Transportation is ready for the winter in Northwest Wyoming this year with their new convertible double wide snow plow, according to KULR8.
The new snow plow cost $400,000, which may seem like a lot, but the money and time it will save in the long run is well worth. This new piece of equipment will clear the highways in half the time. Normally it takes five passes to clear the road from Cody to Powell, now it will only take one pass to clear. For the drivers, it is taking a little more to get used too because now it's not only controlling the front snow plow but they have to control the snow plow on the trailer. The other problem is with the extra snow plow it adds more weight and the drivers can't drive as fast.
When you are out on the road and see one of these snow plows, stay back, be patient and let the worker do their job to make sure everyone is safe on the roads.
This is Missouri's snow plow, but it gives you an idea of what to expect.
