In 2016, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce made it a priority to bring a passenger train to Cheyenne.

They want to make this happen because traffic can get bad on the highways at times, especially during snowstorms.  The Chamber wanted to take away some of that traffic from the highway and get people riding trains again. The plan is to connect the passenger train to the Colorado Rail Commission so residents can go from Cheyenne to Denver or even as far as Colorado Springs and back.

Recently Randy Grauberger was hired as the Project Director of Passenger Rail Commission to oversee the project. Just the other day he was in Cheyenne meeting with the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce and the Wyoming Department of Transportation to discuss the plans.

“We are working on long term solutions which will help with the daily commuters in Northern Colorado and Southeast Wyoming,” Steenbergen, Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce President/CEO told ShortGo.

If you have traveled to or through Loveland lately you may have seen the construction, that is a new Mobility Hub they are building. It will be a place to park and access all the shopping and eating Loveland has to offer. With the Hub being built, it could possibly be a stopping point for the passenger train.
