Officials from the University of Wyoming have spoken out to the city about higher penalties for businesses that sell alcohol to minors, according to the Laramie Boomerang.

It will all be based off a point system, each time a business gets caught selling to a minor they receive 25 points and a $250.00 fine.  If a business gets 75 points in 12 months, the business may potentially have their liquor license suspended.  The Laramie Police will be making two compliance checks per year on every business with a liquor license.

The Vice President for Student Affairs at UW, Sean Blackburn would rather the law be changed to 50 points per violation and a $500 fine.
