The Mule Deer Are Bouncing Back From Harsh Winters In Wyoming

The 2016/2017 winter was not nice to the mule deer in Wyoming killing off 40 % of the animals.

This is bad and good for hunters, with fewer deer to hunt, you have to take what you can get.  With less deer, that means more food for the remaining deer to eat, in return, the deer are fatter than normal.

In the 1990s the mule deer herd was approximately 50,000 according to Gillette News Record.  After recovering from this past winter the population is up to 30,000 with not much food to eat making it harder for the herd to grow.
