The Cheyenne Police Are Serving Up Steaks For A Good Cause
Starting tomorrow, it's the annual 'Tip-a-Cop' promotion at the Cheyenne Texas Roadhouse, according to KGWN.
Every year, members of the Law Enforcement Torch Run of Laramie County get together to help the servers at Texas Roadhouse. The officers work alongside the servers during their shift assisting with serving the food, bussing the table and taking orders. Any money that is earned through a tip will go straight to Special Olympics Wyoming.
The Torch Run was started back in 1981 by a Wichita, Kansas Police officer by the name of Richard LaMunyon. He created the run for local law enforcement to be active in the community and support it as well. In 1983, the Torch Run became a national event.
If you planned on going out to eat this weekend, head on over to Texas Roadhouse and give your server an extra tip as that money will support Special Olympics Wyoming. It starts tomorrow June 7th and will go until Sunday, June 9th.
