T-Storms Expected From Cheyenne to Laramie Today, Thursday

Afternoon thunderstorms are expected to develop across southern Wyoming from Cheyenne to Laramie this afternoon and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.

While the storms aren't expected to become severe, the NWS says they could produce frequent cloud-to-ground lightning and downburst wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

14/420AM: Greetings! Looking at best chances for showers and storms today across southern Wyoming from Cheyenne to maybe Arlington this afternoon. Smaller chances as you head north of these areas today. Highs will range from 74 at Shirley Basin to 82 at Scottsbluff. Warmer and slightly drier Thursday. Main areas to see showers and storms will be from Cheyenne to Laramie. The Nebraska Panhandle, northwest to Douglas and out by Rawlins will be dry. Highs Thursday will range from 80 at Shirley Basin to 89 at Scottsbluff.
