There are several places here in town to get a good hot dog, but I don't know if there is any place in town that can hold a competition like this.

It wouldn't be 4th of July without a bunch of people stuffing their faces with hot dogs and buns in a 10 minute time period to be crowned the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Champion and wear the mustard belt.

It happened once again folks, on the infamous Coney Island Boardwalk in New York. This hot dog eating contest is a world wide event, broadcasted live on ESPN. There are two divisions, male and female, both with 20 competitors apiece.

For the 5th year in a row, Miki Sudo won for the women division. She downed a total of 37 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.

Then, for the males division, the now 11 time champion, America's own Joey "Jaws" Chestnut. He was able to eat 74 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. He beat his previous record from the previous year where he ate 72 hot dogs and buns. He ate away the competition, the person behind him ate 44 hot dogs and buns.

People seem to gamble on anything these days. Bookmakers told ESPN, that Joey had more than $1 million put on him across the board for him to take home the mustard belt.

Obviously Coney Island is known for their world famous Nathan's hot dogs.  But, don't sell Cheyenne short on how great their hot dogs are. Our friends at the Weenie Wrangler won best in state for the best hot dog places. You can grab your street dog at the Cheyenne Depot and Plaza.

Are you the next Joey "Jaws" Chestnutt? You have one year to make the decision, Coney Island will be waiting. Which of your favorite hot dog places in Cheyenne will you be practicing at?
