No More Fireworks, Drones Are Taking Over

Drones To Replace Fireworks In Fire Danger Areas

Rain has been very scarce in the western part of the country, including the Wyoming area, creating some places not being allowed to blow off fireworks. Before the fireworks even started. firefighters have been battling the blazes for weeks now.

In fear the fireworks would cause more wildfires, a few cities in Arizona and one in Colorado, found a new idea to allow the annual city 4th of July celebrations to continue.

City officials came together with the local drone companies to do a LED display in the sky instead (video).  The cities included Carefree and Cave Creek, Arizona and Aspen, Colorado, where over 60 drones flew in the sky to create a show people have never seen before.

The drones are all linked up to one central computer controls all their movements and color scheme.  The drones area all synced up to put on one amazing aerial show for the spectators.  They rely quite a bit on GPS to keep the drones from colliding with one and other in the sky.

"In a beautiful resort town like Aspen -- where people have been coming for the Fourth of July for years -- it's a special feeling, and to end with fireworks really solidifies that," said Deb Braun, head of the Aspen Chamber Resort Association.

It ended up being very successful for these areas and people were pleasantly happy with the show. Granite, nothing is like the actual sites and sounds of real fireworks. As long as the kids are happy at the end of the day, that's all that matters.
