For 52 years, Norwegian Cruise Line has been taking people to destinations they thought they would never go before and making dreams come true.

To celebrate their 52-year history they want to do that with a local hero from your community. The campaign they are running is called 'Encore Moments,' which is also tied to their newest ship, Norwegian Encore. Encore Moments is to recognize and give thanks to those local heroes in your community. This campaign was inspired by their previous one, Giving Joy, which recognized and rewarded teachers across the country.

In a press release, Andy Stuart, Norwegian's president, and the executive officer said this, “we believe it is very important to make the time to celebrate and thank the people whose acts of kindness and compassion make a difference in the lives of their friends and families, and within their communities. We are very proud and excited to launch Encore Moments and we encourage the public to bring these hometown heroes to the forefront for a well-deserved encore.”

A lot of times when we think of heroes in our community we think of police, firefighters, EMT's, etc. Even though those folks are more than heroes and deserve all the credit in the world, heroes can be someone you are with every day. Maybe a teacher? A crossing guard? Local librarian? The cashier at the grocery store? Anyone you think is a hero, that goes above and beyond for everyone else but themselves, then nominate that person.

If there is someone you know deserving of this trip, then go to Encore Moments online to nominate that person. Also, for more information about the cruise, click here to find out. The nomination period already started last week and will continue until October 18, 2019. One person from each state will be chosen for the cruise.
