Cheyenne Is Top 20 In The Country For Speeding Tickets
Cheyenne is the 18th worst city in the country for people getting speeding tickets, according to Insurify.
Cheyenne's population is a little over 60,000, 14.39% of drivers in living here have at least one speeding ticket. 13.25% of Cheyenne drivers were involved in a car accident due to speeding. For every 100,000 people statewide there are 4.27 deaths due to speeding. This also resulted in Cheyenne having one of the highest car insurance rates in the country.
The national average for people with at least one speeding ticket is 10.27% and 12.43% of drivers have been in at least one accident. Urban areas don't seem to have as many speeding tickets due to all the stop signs and traffic lights. That's why a majority of the top 20 list is of rural areas. Surprisingly 60% of the top 20 list is of cities with populations less than 100,000 residents.
The data came from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2017.
Drivers of Cheyenne, please slow down especially with the school year about to start again.
