Cheyenne Council OKs DDA Development Plan for Hynds/Hole Project

The Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority has crafted a plan hoped to finally fill the historic Hynds Building and adjacent "hole."

The City Council on Monday night passed a resolution adopting the plan, which piggybacks on a resolution they passed July 9 reiterating the city's $750,000 commitment to the Hynds/Hole (H2) Project.

"We'll be on our way then to the most important piece of downtown development, I would say, in the last quarter-century," said DDA Executive Director Vicki Dugger. "It's an exciting time. This is an exciting project."

Councilman Scott Roybal says the $750,000 won't be triggered "until a developer is selected, a completion bond is obtained and a development agreement is approved by the DDA and the governing body."
