The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says big changes are headed for Southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle this weekend.

While snow has been in the forecast for the mountains, forecasters are now saying there is a better chance that lower elevations will see snow as well.

The agency posted this forecast on its website:

''Continued mild as we end the week with windy conditions across southeast Wyoming. Winds will continue to increase for the beginning of the weekend as a strong Pacific cold front moves across Wyoming and Utah with winds gusting over 55 MPH across the wind prone areas of I-80 and I-25. Forecast guidance trending colder with a better chance of low elevation snow Sunday and especially Sunday evening. Stay tuned.''
