Wind gusts up to 65 mph are expected to blast portions of interstates 25 and 80 in southeast Wyoming through early this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.

High Wind Warnings are in effect until 3 p.m. for the central Laramie Range and southwest Platte County including Bordeaux, the north Snowy Range foothills including Elk Mountain and Arlington, and the south Laramie Range including the I-80 Summit.

April 12th Morning Update: The High Wind Warning has been extended to include the Interstate 80 Summit today. Gusts up to 65 MPH are expected through early this afternoon.

As of 7:45 a.m., I-25 between Cheyenne and Wheatland and I-80 between Rawlins and Laramie were closed to light, high-profile vehicles due to gusting winds.

I-80 between Laramie and Cheyenne, which was closed due to winter conditions, also remained closed.
