How did all this "4/20" thing start.  Apparently it began with a few high school students who would meet after school at 4:20pm to smoke.  They began using the phrase "4/20" to describe anything related to smoking marijuana including when they followed the "Grateful Dead" concert tour.  Other

fans picked up the phrase, then the media picked it up from there.

That lead to April 20, (4/20) being the unofficial day to smoke. 

As you can see in this video, it is quite popular in Boulder, Co.

I haven't heard of any organized gatherings in Cheyenne, but if you notice someone acting a little "different" today, it could be due to today's date.
