Wyoming Teacher Receives National Award
Chris Bessonette out of Jackson, Wyoming is this year's recipient of the Milken Educator Award for Wyoming.
There are 40 awards to be handed out each year and this is the second year in a row a teacher from Wyoming has won it. Not only is the teacher recognized for their amazing work but each teacher receives $25,000 in cash. Chris is a teacher at Munger Mountain Elementary School in Jackson. Mr. Bessonette teaches dual immersion, which means the students speak half the day in Spanish and the other half in English.
"It's learning how to interact to different people," Bessonette tells the Wyoming Public Media. "It's learning how to communicate in more than one way."
Congratulations to Mr. Chris Bessonette for all the great work he is doing with the kids.
