Wyoming Game & Fish officials and local law enforcement staged a dramatic rescue of an adult moose trapped in the basement of a home in Jackson.

“We’re glad to be of assistance to help our furry friends out,” Teton County Sheriff Matt Carr told Buckrail.

Several Teton County Sheriff's deputies and officers from the Jackson Police Department assisted in the effort. After sedating the moose, they hoisted the 800-lb. animal from the basement into the game warden's truck.

According to K2 Radio news, Game and Fish say the moose was very old and emaciated and died en route to the National Elk Refuge near Jackson.
