Our “Small Town Salute Tuesday” continues as we pay honors to the big metropolis of….CARPENTER!  But what exactly IS in Carpenter, Wyoming?

It’s your opportunity to chime in and tell me a little something about Carpenter, because after all, every small town has something unique and special to offer.

Now, according to Wikipedia, Carpenter, Wyoming is an unincorporated community, and as of 2010, the population was 94…94??? I’m sure it’s grown a little since then.  I also learned that even though Carpenter, Wyoming is unincorporated, they do have a post office, and it’s been there since 1907.

The town of Carpenter was part of a railroad route (which is now defunct,) between Hereford, Colorado and Cheyenne, Wyoming. The town was named after J. Ross Carpenter, a land developer who later became President of the Federal Land Company, and opened up more than 140,000 acres of precious land to settlers whose offspring probably still live somewhere in the Cowboy State.

So what’s in Carpenter, Wyoming today?  Maybe you can tell me, as we give a big ole salute to that small town today!
