Picture yourself on a sandy beach, the sun is shining, a gentle breeze is blowing and the waves are crashing in the distance. Now imagine that you’re in...Wyoming? Believe it or not, life’s a beach here in the Cowboy State. Here are seven of the best.

Alcova Reservoir - This popular summer playground features four different beaches, Black Beach, Big Sandy Beach, Okie Beach, and the Children’s Swim Beach.

Boysen Reservoir - Boysen boasts over 76 miles of shoreline, warm water, scenic mountain views, and is a popular destination for water skiing.

Glendo Reservoir - This state park has over 2 miles of tree-lined sandy beaches. Plus, you can camp right next to the water.

Guernsey Reservoir - Along with four beach areas, Guernsey State Park features several historic landmarks, including the Oregon Trail Ruts and Register Cliff.

Fremont Lake - The second largest lake in the state includes the Sandy Beach Picnic Area on the southeastern shore and is home to Wyoming's biggest sailing regatta.

Saratoga Lake -Hobo Springs isn't the only place to get wild and wild in Saratoga. Sandy Beach sits on the east side of the lake and is one of the most popular places in the state for windsurfing.

Sloans Lake - Garth Brooks made the "Beaches of Cheyenne" famous in a song, but this is the only real beach in the Capital City. Unfortunately, you can't swim in the water and fishing is prohibited on the beach.
