The Denver Post announced this week that they will be discontinuing the Denver Post Cheyenne Frontier Days Train.

25 Big Boys were built to haul freight over the Wasatch mountains between Green River, Wy. and Ogden, Utah. Only eight remain. Two of those can be seen in Cheyenne.

This tour is sold out but the next is Dec. 8. In honor of Veterans Day, The Salute to the Military Tour will be in Nov. 13 featuring Spirit Of The Union Pacific

Union Pacific’s Locomotive No. 1943, The Spirit honors the US armed forces. Every detail in The Spirit incorporates a piece of each U.S. armed forces branch.

While not usually open to the public, a rare chance to visit will be available Friday, October 13th. Starting at 12:30 pm.

Cheyenne was built by an 1863 mandated railway act and has a lot of fans of Union Pacific Railroads. This year, we get some extra days to take in the Steam Shop
