Memorial Day weekend might be filled with backyard barbecues, but THIS Saturday you can also pay honors to a young man named Alex at the "2nd Annual Rally For Alex."

Mick Naggy, who’s married to Alex’s mother Kay, talked to us about Alex, a young man who left this world too soon. “He was an awesome kid, he was very loving, very easy to get along with, he could get along with anybody, he was part of the train club, and most of those folks were older gentlemen, and he fit right in, he would run the trains, and he was just one of those kind of kids where you would just bond with him right away."

This huge rally to honor Alex  will be filled with food, fun, live bands, all sorts of vendors, prizes, raffles and giveaways.  They’ll be serving up a tasty Cajun Jambalaya dinner, and there’ll be a special meet and greet appearance by Michael Ballard from the television show “Full Throttle Saloon.” There’s also a chance to win a 2014 Harley Davidson Street Bob which is on display right now at High Country Motor Sports. The Sherman Hill Train Club will also leave their set up on display in honor of Alex.   The event will be from 12 noon to 11 p.m. at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Exhibit Hall.

Proceeds will benefit the Alexander G Frye Charity Fund which go towards scholarships for young adults who need help with funds to further their education.  It’s usually for these young adults with a military background, as Mick explained, “since Alex’s dad Bill Frye is retired from the military, and Alex’s grandfather who also served in the military, so there’s that background, and this year we’re doing Girls Boys and State through the American Legion leadership program where proceeds will be going towards…”
