Nine registered sex offenders were arrested and warrants for eight others were requested as the result of a recent Laramie County sex offender compliance check, according to the Laramie County Sheriff's Office.

According to a post on the agency's Facebook page, the sheriff's office joined with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Laramie County Sex Offender Registry Team in implementing "Operation Jessica."

The check was conducted during the week of August 16-20, according to the post.

The compliance sweep checked on registered sex offenders in the county to make sure they are registering as required by law and following all court mandates. According to the post, the sweep attempted to contact 210 sex offenders. A total 0f 169 were verified, of which 136 were found to be compliant with the rules. 16 were found to be non-compliant.

The post quoted Marshall  Randall Huff as saying:

“I am proud of the U.S. Deputy Marshals and our law enforcement partners from the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office for the long, hard work conducting this sex offender compliance operation, and for the job do each day”
