A 44-year-old Colorado motorcyclist is dead after colliding with an SUV north of Cheyenne Monday morning.

Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Kyle McKay says Timothy Klibbe, of Aurora, was headed south on U.S. Highway 85 around 10:30 a.m. when he crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with an SUV at milepost 26.5.

Klibbe was thrown from the bike and died at the scene. The driver of the SUV received minor injuries and was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.

The crash caused U.S. Highway 85 north of Cheyenne to be temporarily closed for several hours while an investigation was completed.
