If you think your car moves at a crawl, chances are it’s a Mazda 6 sedan, and it crawls for a reason….spiders!  And now Mazda is recalling 42,000 of these models due to the creepy critters.

According to CNN Money, Mazda is recalling 42,000 Mazda 6 sedans because of a species of spider known as the yellow sac spider that’s attracted to the hydro-carbons in gasoline.  These spiders tend to build their nests right in the vent hose causing the fuel tank to crack.  This issue can lead fires as a result.  This new recall on their Mazda 6 sedans includes model years 2010 through 2012.

Mazda had to recall 52,000 Mazda 6 vehicles 3 years ago for the very same issue.  They installed a spring and software in their models that were a part of this first recall, and they started installing the springs on new cars off the assembly line.  However they didn’t sell the software, and since they've received nine customer reports of cracked fuel tanks, Mazda decided to recall this model from years 2010 to 2012 to get this software installed.

Have you ever had something invade your vehicle like spiders, wasps or squirrels?
