Wanted Cheyenne Transient Arrested, Hit With Felony Charges
A 53-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing multiple charges, including felony burglary and theft charges, after being picked up on two warrants.
According to a booking sheet, Troy Dewayne Black was arrested at 9:47 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 after police were dispatched to Countryside Avenue and Medicine Man Trail for the report of a wanted person and contacted him in a camper on the north side of the street.
2 Warrants
Police say Black had two warrants out of Laramie County.
The first was for failure to appear on original charges of driving under a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident, both misdemeanor charges, and was signed by Circuit Court Judge Thomas Lee on Sept. 23, 2024.
The second was for felony burglary, felony theft, and misdemeanor property destruction, and was signed by Circuit Court Judge Sean Chambers on Sept. 26, 2024.
Black was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where he underwent the booking process without incident.
Bond Set at $3K Cash
Black was seen in Circuit Court on Monday, Sept. 30, during which his bond was set at $3,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Monday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.
