Suspicious Vehicle Call Leads to Wanted Cheyenne Man’s Arrest

A wanted Cheyenne man is behind bars after reportedly trying to outrun the police.

According to a booking sheet, it all started around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, after police were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle call at the SureStay Plus by Best Western at 1781 Fleischli Pkwy.

Wanted Cheyenne Man Leads Police on Foot Chase

Police say while they were investigating, they observed 25-year-old Donavan Durrell Studer sprint away through the parking lot.

Studer then reportedly climbed and jumped a barbwire fence into XPO's secure parking lot at 1900 Culter Rd. and hid from officers.

Police say when they confronted Studer and told him to stop, he ran across Interstate 25, and, after a brief chase, was taken into custody in a large field near I-25 and Missile Drive.

Police say Studer had two syringes on him filled with liquid suspected to be a controlled substance.

He also had a warrant out of Laramie County Circuit Court for felony theft, which was signed by Judge Thomas Lee on April 2.

Studer was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on his warrant as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance in liquid form, criminal trespass, and interference with a peace officer - no injury.

UPDATE:

Studer made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Thursday afternoon, during which his total bond was set at $4,000 cash and his preliminary hearing and arraignment were scheduled for April 11 at 11 a.m.
