Laramie Community Clean-Up Days Kickoff Event Coming Soon
The City of Laramie has announced a kickoff event for this year's Community Clean-Up Days.
That's according to a post on the City of Laramie's Facebook page.
According to the post "The Kickoff Event marks the start of Laramie's Community Clean-Up Days initiative, which lasts from April 18th to May 4th. The goal is to get volunteers from around the community to invest in the place they live and love by cleaning up trash that's blown in from over the winter months. By attending the Kickoff Event and signing up to volunteer, you will receive a free t-shirt as well as free trash bags to help you get started with your cleanup initiative."
The kickoff event will be on April 18th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Laramie Rec Center and will feature local food trucks, community organizations and kids activities. Even though the event will wrap up at 1 p.m., food trucks will be at the rec center all day long, according to the post.
Volunteers Will Be Honored Later This Year
The Facebook also says Additionally, this year, in honor of America's 250th birthday, individual volunteers who complete 100 hours of volunteer work and groups who complete 250 hours of volunteer work prior to July 1st will be recognized at the opening ceremonies of this year's Freedom Has a Birthday event! Hours volunteered do not have to occur during Community Clean-Up Days. More opportunities to volunteer are available at volunteer.cityoflaramie.org.
