The 2026 Wyoming High School Softball State Championships are in Cheyenne for the second consecutive year. The season ends with an eight-team, double-elimination state tournament bracket. The games will take place from May 21-23 at the Cheyenne Junior League Complex. The two game fields are the Central Majors and South Majors Field. These fields face northwest and southwest in Cheyenne, located on Converse Avenue just off Del Range Boulevard.

WYOPREPS SOFTBALL STATE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE 2026

Seeding was based on each team’s finish at last weekend’s regional tournaments in Gillette and Rock Springs. Campbell County won the North, and Cheyenne East won the South Regional. Here is the full schedule for the softball state championships.

THURSDAY, MAY 21:

Final Score: (N1) Campbell County 12 (S4) Wheatland 4 - The Camels used a 7-run 5th inning to break the game open. Cone had 3 hits & 3 RBIs, and Thayer added 2 hits & 3 RBIs for the Camels.

Final Score: (S2) Cheyenne Central 15 (N3) Kelly Walsh 5 - The Indians pulled away with a 10-run 6th inning after KW had an early 4-3 lead. Pineda went 4-4 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored for Central.

Final Score: (S3) Rock Springs 19 (N2) Natrona County 8 - The Tigers took control with an 8-run 4th inning and finished it off with 5 more in the 5th. Wester and Anderson homered. Wester also had a triple and drove in 5 runs. Anderson and Florencio finished with 2 RBIs each. Wallendorf added 3 RBIs. Dickinson had 2 hits, including a home run, and 4 RBIs for NC.

Final Score: (S1) Cheyenne East 13 (N4) Cody 3 - The T-Birds trailed 3-0, and then scored the last 13 runs of the game over their last 4 at-bats. Grant had 3 hits, including 1 home run, 3 RBIs, and scored 3 runs. Hollibaugh added 3 hits and 2 RBIs. McDonald contributed 2 hits & drove in 3 runs.

FRIDAY, MAY 22:

Final Score: Cheyenne Central 12 Campbell County 3 - The Indians took the lead with a run in the 3rd, then added 4 in the 4th and finished with 4 in the 7th. Pineda homered as part of 2 hits & 4 RBIs for Central. Erickson added 3 hits, 2 RBIs, and scored 3 runs.

Final Score: Cheyenne East 8 Rock Springs 3 - Down 3-2, the T-Birds scored 6 runs in the 6th for the win. Artery had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Artery, Grant, and Irwin had RBI singles in the big inning. Anderson had a solo HR for the Tigers.

Final Score: Wheatland 21 Kelly Walsh 6 – Trojans are eliminated; The Bulldogs scored 4 runs in each of the first 3 frames. They capped it with 8 more in the 6th. Wheatland hit 4 home runs. Adams had 2 HRs among 4 hits & 4 RBIs. Meyer added 2 doubles, 1 HR, and 6 RBIs. Vaughn contributed 5 hits & drove in 4 runs.

Final Score: Cody 13 Natrona County 2 – NC is eliminated; A 6-run first helped Cody take control. Cody capped it with a 5-run 5th. C. Lindemann led the charge with 3 hits, 2 RBIs, and 3 runs scored for Cody. Reinker added 2 hits (2B) & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Rock Springs 12 Wheatland 4 – Bulldogs are eliminated; The Tigers scored 3 in the 1st and 4 more in the 2nd to take the lead. Florencio had 3 hits & 5 RBIs. McGarvey contributed 2 hits (2B) & 1 RBI.

Final Score: Cody 7 Campbell County 6 – Camels are eliminated; Fillies knock off last year's champion. It will be the first time a non-Gillette school wins the softball state title. The Fillies used a 4-run 5th to take the lead and held off the Camels. Stevenson had 2 hits & drove in 1 run for Cody, and H. Lindemann added 1 hit & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Rock Springs 17 Cody 6 – Fillies are eliminated, take 4th place; RS took the lead with 7 runs in the 1st. They also scored 6 runs in the 3rd. Anderson homered among 2 hits & 5 RBIs. Wallendorf contributed 4 hits & 6 RBIs.

Final Score: Cheyenne East 14 Cheyenne Central 4 (5 inn) – semifinal; T-Birds advance to the championship game. A 9-run 2nd inning put East in front for good. Doughty had 2 hits, 4 RBIs, and scored 2 runs. Hollibaugh, Lake, and Losalu all added 2 hits & 2 RBIs for East.

 

SATURDAY, MAY 22:

All Games at Central Field

Final Score: Cheyenne Central 11 Rock Springs 8 – Tigers are eliminated, take 3rd place; Central took the lead for good after a back-and-forth game with 3 runs in the 3rd, putting them up 7-6. Erickson contributed 3 hits & 2 RBIs for the Indians. Rock Springs was led by Anderson with 3 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Cheyenne Central 11 Cheyenne East 1 – Championship Game

Final Score: Cheyenne EastCheyenne Central 4 – If necessary, 2nd championship game – winner takes all; T-Birds win 1st state title in school history. Leuthy hit the walk-off single with 2 outs. Artery led the way with 2 hits & 1 RBI. Erickson for the Indians had 2 hits & scored 2 runs.
