Cheyenne Central rebounded from an opening-day home loss to Sheridan and dominated Kelly Walsh 38-6 in Casper on Friday in 4A football. The Indians used a punishing ground game led by quarterback Miles Porwoll and running back Mason Counter.

Counter found the end zone twice on the ground and ended up with 149 yards rushing. Porwoll was equally effective running the football with a couple of rushing touchdowns of his own and ended up with 120 yards on the ground. Chase Talich caught 3 balls for 62 yards plus 69 yards rushing but left the game with a knee injury.

It was a rough night for Kelly Walsh all the way around but did have a few sharp pitch and catch plays on offense. Central is now 1-1 and will return to Casper on Friday night to meet Natrona. Kelly Walsh is 0-2 on the young season and will be on the road this week to meet 0-2 Cheyenne South.
