LARAMIE -- It's not only the most wonderful time of the year, around here, it's the most important, too.

Coming off a disappointing 4-8 campaign, Wyoming head coach Jay Sawvel certainly has his work cut out for him, especially on the offensive side of the ball. That unit averaged just 16 points per game -- which was, believe it or not, inflated thanks to a pair of defensive touchdowns this fall -- and is in need of a major "rework."

His words, not mine.

The first two departures of the offseason have already been announced. The team's leading receiver Chris Durr Jr. said Monday he will enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. So will soon-to-be senior running back Terron Kellman.

Are those big losses?

Is losing anyone from this underachieving offense a major deal?

In a rare statement, nickelback Desman Hearns tweeted Tuesday his belief in the staff, his teammates and the university, adding he will be back in the mix in 2026 out of the Cowboys' secondary. True freshman Tyson Deen, who also saw plenty of time on special teams and even ran some routes at receivers, said he'll return, too. He expects fellow cornerbacks Markie Grant and Tyrese Boss to be right there with him.

Early signing day also gets underway tomorrow. Wyoming is expected to ink 19-to-21 freshmen in this year's class.

Cody Tucker and Jared Newland break it all down on this week's episode of the Roaring Repeater Podcast. We also chat about the current state of the program, some potential quarterbacks who could soon be calling Laramie home and what the faith level is in Sawvel and Co. to get the job done.

Just The Facts: Size Doesn't Matter For Wyoming's War Memorial Stadium

Did you know it would take the populations of Gillette (32,857), Laramie (32,381), Rock Springs (23,319), Sheridan (17,844) and Wright (1,200) to create a sellout inside Michigan's famed 107,601-seat Big House, the largest college football stadium in the nation?

For those of you not familiar with the Cowboy State, those are Wyoming's third through sixth most inhabited cities, along with the small mining town in Campbell County.
