A grinch is trying to steal Christmas in Gillette. Several business owners have recently reported the theft of their holiday displays, according to County 17.

4 T Pawn owner Felicia Toth claims somebody stole an 8-foot inflatable Santa in front of her store on Tuesday night. Across town at the Surf-N-Suds laundromat, a 10-feet-tall inflatable Santa turned up missing last weekend.

“I wanted to share Santa with the town so people could drive by and smile,” Toth said. "I’ll catch (the thief) next time."

Gillette Police say they've had several similar reports this holiday season, but they aren't sure if the thefts are related.

Toth plans to replace Santa with an inflatable Frosty the Snowman. Meanwhile, the Surf-N-Suds already has a new Santa along with a red truck, a penguin, and a Christmas tree. They also have surveillance cameras, which they hope will help capture the culprit.
