Snow in the month of May is nothing new in Cheyenne.
In fact, it was just three years ago tomorrow that a whopping 5 inches of snow fell in the capital city, smashing the previous record for May 20 of 0.8 inches set in 2001.
An additional 3.5 inches of snow landed at the airport the following day, breaking a 128-year-old daily snowfall record by 0.5 inches.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, it does not look like Cheyenne will break those records this year.
According to the latest briefing from the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, the Magic City of the Plains will most likely see 2 to 3 inches of snow tonight through midday Saturday.
