Cheyenne Mom Suspected of Drinking, Smoking Pot Has Baby Taken Away
A baby has been taken away from his mother after Cheyenne Police found the woman passed out on her couch.
"On September 26, officers were called to the 1800 block of Crook Avenue for a welfare check," said Officer Dan Long.
Long says officers found 25-year-old Amanda Carlton, who was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, passed out.
"They found a marijuana pipe and a small amount of marijuana," said Long. "The woman's 3-month-old baby was found between the couch cushion and the back of the couch."
Long says officers changed the baby's diaper, made a bottle and fed him.
"They did take the kid into protective custody," said Long. "An affidavit was completed and forwarded to the District Attorney's office and they'll basically determine what they want to charge."
