All Quiet at the Post Office on Tax Day
Just a few years ago, there were long lines of cars as tax payers waited until the last minute to file their tax returns.
Some waited because they owed money, others were just procrastinators.
Normally, tax day is April 15, but this year it fell on the 18th.
Talking to Postal Service employees, they said they were getting about 40 to 50 returns an hour. There were lines around 5pm but around 8pm the lines almost stopped. They expected the lines to come again about 11pm and last until midnight but still much fewer people in line. When asked what they think the cause was, they said it could the combination that tax day was on the 18th this year, and the fact that many people are now filing their taxes on-line.
