A Michigan Lawyer Gave Away Another Free Divorce For Valentine’s Day!

So we just celebrated the “day of love” known as Valentine’s Day.  While some give chocolates, flowers or nice massages to their loved ones, one lawyer decided to pick a couple and give them what they wanted…a DIVORCE!

This lawyer, who gave away a divorce last year, did it again this year. He ended up making a dream come true for one lucky couple living in Detroit who have no child custody issues.

But why?  Aside from the obvious great publicity he got from the whole thing, he also wanted to help a couple who really wanted to get a divorce but couldn’t because they couldn’t afford it.  He says he’s heard lots of stories over the years about couples who couldn’t afford to actually go through the divorce, even if they’ve been living apart for years. 

To me, this would go right up there on the list of worst ways of breaking up with somebody…on Valentine’s Day?  Of course there are other horror break-up stories: Phil Collins actually told his wife he wanted a divorce in a faxed message!  Taylor Swift got a phone call message from one of her many “heartbreakers” saying that he wanted to break up.
