Wyoming's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 3.6 percent last month, according to a new report from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.

That was down slightly from the 3.7 percent jobless rate in Wyoming in March. Wyoming had a 4.0 jobless rate in April of 2018. The state unemployment rate last month matched the national unemployment rate of 3.6 percent.

Most county unemployment rates in Wyoming followed their typical pattern and declined between March and April. That trend can be attributed to the arrival of warmer weather, which typically sparks job growth in construction, professional and business services and other sectors of the state economy, including tourism.

Unemployment rates in the state in a year-over-year comparison also fell in virtually every county in the state.
