The 12th annual report from the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy is in and Wyoming ranked dead last.

Each state is scored in these six areas, utilities, buildings, transportation, state government, combined heat and power, and appliance standards.  The scorecard points out best practices for promoting energy efficiency, basically showing customers the best way to get the most energy but use as less as possible.  When practicing these new ways to save energy, in return we get better air and water quality, strengthened grid resilience, promotes equity and improves health and comfort.

The top three energy efficient states are Massachusetts, California, and Rhode Island.

The bottom three least efficient states are Wyoming, North Dakota, and West Virginia.
