New Airman Can Be Adopted By Cheyenne Families
When leaving home for the first time, it can be scary and intimidating. Help a new Airman out by inviting them to your home for a meal.
The Military Affairs Committee of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce came up with this program, according to KGWN. If you are entering your first year as an Airman at F.E. Warren then you can apply for this. Residents of Cheyenne can extend a hand and let these brave young men and women into their homes and make them feel apart of their family.
If you are a resident in Cheyenne and want to help, here's how it works. First, you can't be an active-duty or full-time National Guard or Reserve. If you are able to help these Airman then your obligation is to have one meeting per month with that person. Whether it is dinner, family night out, whatever as long as it is once a month. You can do more than that but that is all you are required.
If you would like to host an Airman you will have to answer questions and go through a background check. Then, they match up the Airmen with the right family based on hobbies, interests, etc...
The motto of the program is "home-away-from-home." For more information email adoptanairmanwyo@gmail.com.
