Within the next few months, Cheyenne Police and Laramie County Sheriff's will have 24 access to Laramie County School District 1, according to KGWN.

As of right now, only 10 school resource officers may enter the schools after hours, meaning if law enforcement is called to the school they have to wait for an administrator to let them in.  In the coming months, all officers and sheriff deputies will have ID cards to access entry into the school.  They are also in the process of granting the Highway Patrol access as well.

"The relationship we've had, 30 years with our district, they just continually build off of what do we need to do," Lt. Howard Smith with CPD told KGWN.
