Mention street musicians and the image of a New York subway singer might come to mind. Perhaps someone on a city corner banging on plastic buckets and other homemade instruments.

Would Wyoming come to mind? It should. A few Wyoming street musicians can be found playing every Saturday at the Cheyenne Farmers Market.

The market runs from the first week in August to the first week in Oct. from 7 a.m. to noon Saturdays in the Depot Plaza at Lincoln way and Capitol Avenue. There are around 40 vendors from Wyoming with fresh fruits, vegetables, artisan bread, local honey, specialty foods, native trees, flowers, organic produce. All proceeds benefit Community Action of Laramie County.

These Wyoming musicians are there every weekend and play for the love of it, and tips.

The market is closing for this season. But the indoor winter market, at the Cheyenne Depot, will begin Nov. 5, 2016 - Dec. 17, 2016 1st and 3rd Saturdays,10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Jan. 7, 2017 - May 6, 201 1st Saturdays,10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
