After 37 hours of negotiations, 12,000 members of the UFCW Local 7R union workers at 109 King Soopers/City Market stores across the state will not be going on strike.

The two sides have been trying to get a new contract in place for four months; over the weekend, the last-ditch efforts to come to an agreement were fruitful.

According to Denver 7, the new contract will see raises for all union members, increases in retirement pay, enhanced benefits and, for some workers, more vacation time.

The union members still have to vote on the new contract, but it looks like we, as customers, won't have to worry about our shopping experiences being less than what we're accustomed to.
