Red Flag Fire Warning Issued For Most Of Southeast Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Fire Warning for all of southeast Wyoming except some higher mountain elevations.
The agency posted the following on its website:
Warm, dry, and windy weather is expected today, which will make for very dangerous wildfire conditions. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the entire area outside of the high mountains due to the potential for rapid spread of wildfires. Low humidity combined with south to southwest winds gusting 40 to 50 MPH are expected this afternoon and evening. Don't be the spark! Avoid any outdoor burning or other activities that could cause a spark if possible. In addition to the fire danger, a smoke plume from southern California wildfires is likely to bring hazy skies and possibly reduced air quality into the area today.
