Deer Collision Leads to Head-On Collision

According to a fatality crash summary, 57-year-old Cory Yingling was behind the wheel of a northbound Dodge Stratus when a deer ran west across the highway directly in the path of the car.

"(Yingling) swerved to the left in an attempt to avoid a collision with the deer, but impacted the deer with the front right portion of the vehicle," the summary reads.

The car then reportedly continued into the southbound lanes and collided head on with a southbound Chevrolet Silverado.

Sadly, Yingling, who the WHP says was not buckled up, didn't survive the crash. The pickup driver and a passenger were not injured.

Cell Phone Use

The summary lists cell phone use as a possible contributing factor.

Yingling is the third reported person to die on Wyoming's highways this year. Of those fatalities, two died in crashes near Glenrock.

According to his obituary (see below), Yingling is survived by his wife, three children, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
