Cheyenne Woman Accused of Trying to Drive Into Her Sister
A 26-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing a felony charge after reportedly getting into a heated verbal argument with her sister and trying to drive into her.
According to a booking sheet, Corinthia Joy McFarlin was arrested at 6:39 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 after a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy was called to a hit-and-run at a home in the 6700 block of Braehill Road.
Heated Verbal Argument Leads to Felony Charge
The deputy says McFarlin had gone to the home to pick up her 8-year-old son and after a heated verbal argument with her sister recklessly drove into a chain link fence attempting to hit her, causing injury to her right hand.
McFarlin then reportedly left the scene but was later found at her home, handcuffed, and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.
McFarlin was charged with aggravated assault and battery - attempts to cause, or intentionally or knowingly causes bodily injury to another with a deadly weapon, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
She was also charged with two misdemeanors, including duty to stop vehicle where accident involves death or personal injuries and endangering children - knowingly or with criminal negligence cause, permit or contribute to the endangering of the child's life or health by violating a duty of care, protection or support.
Bond Set at $3K Cash or Surety
McFarlin made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday, Oct. 29, during which her bond was set at $3,000 cash or surety and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m.
