East Sweeps Central in the Battle of Cheyenne Hoops

Cheyenne East and Cheyenne Central wrapped up the regular season in basketball with a head-to-head match-up on Friday night at the Storey Gym. The East girls who are the defending 4A state champions outlasted Central 77-67. Boden Liljedahl had 22 for the Thunder Birds and Central was led by Madisyn Baillie with 15. East is now 18-2 and Central is 12-8.

On the boys' side, East handled Central 63-48 as the Thunderbirds jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Drew Jackson paced East with 22 and Joseph Sawyer threw in 23 for the Indians. East is now 19-2 and Central fell to 15-7.

Both teams will be headed to Casper for the 4A East regional tournament and the State Tournament will be the following week, also in Casper. We have some pics to share with you from Friday's action at the Storey Gy, compliments of Trenda Allen. Enjoy!
